New York Stories

(Jeanfrançois Prins/Judy Niemack)

A hot night, driving through the city,

A stoplight, the view from here is pretty,

It’s all right; I’ll take a look around,

‘Cause I feel a strange intoxication. Is it real, my anticipation?

Town of steel and sophistication,

Won’t you tell me your New York Stories?

Spoken:

Sun’s coming up, shining on the river like satin,

It’s that time between darkness and dawn,

Night folks are going home, the rest of the world is just startin’ their day,

The city’s so beautiful; I think I’ll stay another night.
